(12:45) In a while W. will come to me for a final check up of my internship. weird because everyone else got only 1 visit. i get 2. Feeling special :o
Going to ask for a delay for my paper, not that my isn’t finished, but I have to bind my paper and shops are closed now for a looong looong time. So we’ll see about that…
(16:05) Didn’t work :(
(16:28) Actually I lied. I forgot to ask about it :( . W. was accompanied by L. wich asked, like usually, stupid irelevant questions … There next stop was Ferranti, but they didn’t know that D. wasn’t working there anymore. Lack of interest?

8:47 So, everybody is finished with their internship … I feel like the last customer in a late night bar. Better start putting my chair upside-down on the table.
Friday Ma. told me she was going to N. unexpectedly soon. Although I didn’t see her as much as Mi., it’s another painfull goodbye. Goodbyes are not my friends.
I do not envy H. right now. Visited him quickly yesterday. Will pay him a decent visit this evening I think.

8:51 E2 should arrive today. The world is just one big RORO ship.

11:50 Great! My boss just told me that the work I have done the last four days were useless since they want it integrated in Sharepoint. Thx for telling me that AFTER I figured it all out …
On other news: my contact person with company F. came in with a face like his mother just died. He told me that I have to keep myself busy untill the 4th of june. Then my real job is going to start. That’s what they told me the last three times too. Luckely I had to decide about this job in 1 day and they get 3 months to do it.
He looked at me like he expected me to start arguing. But I didn’t. Why would I. Hope I find a decent new job soon.

Day 75

08.50: It’s the final countdooooown tududuuduuuuuu tururututuuuu!
09.42: Lot’s of things happened in these 75 days!

I drank 5 cups of thee daily, give or take. In one cup thee, I put 2 sugars and a dash of milk. That’s 75 “liter” thee, a couple bottles of milk and 750 sugars during this internship. I also drank 0.5 to 1 liter water in the afternoon, thats about 50 liter water!
At company F., I think that 4 people know my name.

I recieved 700€ for working here 2 weeks! Al the other interns were offered a contract to work here FOR EVER. I didn’t because I’m going away for a year!
I’ve called the helpdesk a couple of times because of the following reasons:
- I locked my account
- My network card didn’t work anymore
- I broke the USB port
- My network card didn’t work … again.
Gasoline cost: 114€
The people at company F. aren’t that bad, they’re just … weird.

15.25: So that was about it! We had joy, we had fun, we played frisbee in the sun! It’s almost over!

9:36 You’d think that in the geeky world of Linux there would definitly be support for dual screen? Hell, even multi screen. No, there is none. There are very specific drivers for each graphics card from each vendor that can enable you multi screen by adapting a lot in config files etc. Score +1 for MS.

9:46 Thought of a new site concept a few days ago. I was wondering why there is no decent website to store and share your reading expiriences. You have last.fm for music, imdb for movies, why not something for books? I know they are not that popular, but it could also contain comics and the like. I talked to G. about it yesterday and he was very enthousiastic from the start. Although I fear this is once again one of them projects I will never finish, I think we created a rather good general outline of our project in a real short time. Thanks to Google Docs, G. and I made this document in about 30 m. Now all we need is a cool design & logo, a good DB, a web interface and most of all: a really Snappy Title!

Aan de andere kant van de Everest …
2 maanden slapen op de grond,
2 maanden naar het toilet gaan in een blauwe chemische container, waar je als een ervaren ballerina moet op balanceren,
2 maanden ’s nachts een pisfles vullen, die je moet gebruiken, omdat hij er anders buiten afligt,
voor mij de eerste 5 dagen van de expeditie, niks eten, niks drinken, niks slapen, en alles opnieuw weer overgeven,
hijgen na elke 10 stappen,
een zuurstofsaturatie van 65%, als die normalerwijze boven de 90% moet zijn,
2 maanden hetzelfde ontbijt, havermoutpap, in het Engels “porridge”, een pannenkoek en een ei,
s’ nachts last van apneus, ‘t is te zeggen volledig onregelmatig ademhalen,
soms heel snel, soms veel te traag, soms enkele seconden helemaal geen ademhaling, heel beangstigend,
1 maal om de drie weken douchen, met een waterzak die op kniehoogte hangt.

11:06 I did everything MS says me to do for importing the MSSQL library in my java project. Yet still it can’t find the classlibrary!
In unrelated news: this week is going to be only half a week! Hurrah!
In more unrelated news: normally, the 2nd E. should arrive in Belgium this week. According to E1, she thought all ppl in Belgium spoke French. Boy, is she going to be in for a surprise! :P
